Furniture Design I is a studio course designed to introduce the materials, processes, and evaluation of contemporary studio craft furniture. Through a variety of different assignments, students explore traditional woodworking and metal fabrication techniques as they work to come up with innovative, unique, and well-crafted furniture design solutions.  These assignments help students clarify their own artistic vision, while the formal critiques help them to develop a critical dialogue about their work.
