1/1
Over the course of this two-semester honors class, students investigated the history, science, use and manufacturing of musical instruments and then applied this knowledge to designing, building, and testing an original musical instrument of their own design. Students were expected to come up with innovative, unique, and well-crafted instruments using both traditional and contemporary materials. They also composed original music for these instruments and then performed these compositions at a public concert at the end of the second semester. This course was made possible by a grant from the Associated Colleges of the South and by the Dean of the Faculty at Rollins College.
